Changelog

Dated changes to the API, the SDKs and these docs. Breaking marks a change that can stop working code; each one says what to do.

The SDKs follow semver at 0.x, so a minor release may break — pin a version in production and read this page before upgrading.

  • API — an empty wallet now refuses with 402 insufficient_balance (was 409 conflict, the same code a reused exec_id gets). Branch on the code: top up, rather than free resources. Both SDKs already raise APIError for it, as before. See Errors.
  • API — POST /v1/machines/{id}/exec answers 410 endpoint_retired with what to use instead (was a bare 404). SDK 0.1.1 users see this as GoneError.
  • API — an exec record's timeout_sec is null on status, list and cancel, and the real value only on the start response. It read 0 before, which looked like "no timeout".
  • Limits — new trial and pay-as-you-go limits. Trial: 3 machines · 4 vCPU · 4 GB RAM · 30 GB disk · 2 volumes, at most 2 vCPU / 2 GB per machine. After your first top-up: 20 machines · 24 vCPU · 32 GB · 200 GB · 10 volumes, at most 8 vCPU / 16 GB per machine. A machine over the per-machine maximum is a 400 validation_error, not quota_exceeded: freeing other resources will not make it fit. See Quotas.
  • Volumes — a data volume must be at least 5 GB (was 1 GB).
  • Docs — the self-hosted engine pages are removed; these docs cover Sistemo Cloud.

  • API — Breaking: POST /v1/machines/{id}/exec is retired and answers 404. Commands run as jobs on POST /v1/machines/{id}/execs (Exec). SDK users: upgrade to 0.1.2 or later — sb.run() keeps the same signature and result, so your code does not change.

2026-09-26

  • API — up to 16 jobs at once per machine (was 8); the 17th answers 409.

  • Python SDK 0.1.2 · JavaScript SDK 0.1.2 — sb.run() runs every command as a job on /execs, so the old 120-second ceiling is gone (up to 24 hours with timeout). New: sb.start() returns a job you can stream(), wait() on or reconnect to with sb.job(id).
  • API — async commands: POST /v1/machines/{id}/execs returns a handle immediately, with status, list, cancel and offset-paged output. Output is base64, so binary output round-trips byte for byte. Up to 8 jobs at once per machine.

2026-09-05

  • Python SDK 0.1.1 · JavaScript SDK 0.1.1 — ⚠ stops working against the current API (see 2026-09-29). Upgrade to 0.1.2 or later.

2026-09-02

  • Python SDK 0.1.0 · JavaScript SDK 0.1.0 — first release.
